Body Design Coral Gables
The conversion of a former gym into a contemporary yoga studio was driven by the intention to create a space that promotes calm, balance, and presence. The existing layout was simplified into an open practice area, complemented by custom storage seamlessly integrated into the architecture to maintain clarity and order.
Sculptural arches become the defining architectural feature, framing illuminated niches that display yoga equipment while adding rhythm and depth to the interior. A combination of soft indirect lighting, textured finishes, natural oak flooring, and a muted earthy palette establishes a warm, contemplative atmosphere where the architecture quietly supports the practice.
The practice room is arranged in rows that use the depth of the space and keep a direct visual connection with the instructor from any position. The arches repeat along the walls with precise modulation, so storage, display and lighting become part of one system and the space feels ordered even at its busiest moments.
The reception and retail area welcome users with the same warmth as the rest of the studio, through wooden counters, textured surfaces and soft lighting that marks the transition from the street to the practice. The changing rooms complete the journey with durable finishes and an aesthetic consistent with the brand's identity.
The result is a space where every element contributes to a sense of stillness, transforming a previously utilitarian environment into a holistic setting that encourages movement, mindfulness, and well-being.
