Nautilus Residence

01 / 13

The Nautilus Residence is a complete renovation of a private home in Miami Beach, designed to reflect the client’s evolving lifestyle and desire for a serene, multifunctional space. The renovation focused on transforming the existing layout into an open-concept home that seamlessly connects the interior with the lush exterior garden.

The design introduces new programmatic areas—including a dedicated home office, playroom, and bar area—while maintaining a cohesive flow throughout the main living spaces. A key design strategy was to visually and physically open the home to the surrounding landscape, allowing natural light and greenery to become integral elements of the interior experience.

In the social area, a large dining table and a low-slung living space sit in front of wide windows that frame the garden, while a custom wooden library accompanies circulation and adds warmth. The open, integrated kitchen is resolved with continuous surfaces and a central volume that becomes a gathering point in the family's daily life.

The private areas keep the same language: bedrooms with wood paneling and indirect lighting, and bathrooms where natural stone and openings toward the greenery create a spa-like atmosphere. Each room was designed to offer different degrees of privacy without losing the connection to the landscape that runs through the entire home.

A refined palette of earth tones and soft, calming colors enhances the tranquil atmosphere, creating a balance between functionality and relaxation. The result is a modern, inviting residence where every space engages with nature and supports a flexible, contemporary way of living.
